After having starting problems for over a week and checking almost everything , changing the fuel filter, changing the glow plugs, changing the o-rings on the fuel pump (there was a slight leak).... the final piece of the puzzle was the relay end of things. I stripped away the insulation from the fusible link to find that it was broken/melted in three pieces. I couldn’t even feel that it had broken. I had to strip the insulation off.
I hope this helps someone. As I had been pulling my hair out for over week.

Make sure that the glow plug rail has plenty of clearance from the injector pipes.

Excellent advice. I was thinking that something must have been aggravating it and that seems a prime suspect to me.
