Bongo Engine Type

Post by Jayce72 » Tue Jan 09, 2018 10:39 pm

Hi - Newbie here to the Bongo world. I have a colleague selling his Bongo (Diesel 2wd 1999 2.5) but it looks like the engine is on the way out. Is the engine only made for Bongos or is it another type (like a Mondeo or something) that I can get easily elsewhere.

Regards

Ford Ranger, but some ancillaries are different, main thing is the need for a method of bleeding the coolant in the Bongo.

Thanks - I wouldnt have a clue about changing the engine - leave that to the experts. Just wanted to do a bit of research on the cost of a new engine

Your best bet is likely Bongo Spares near Sowerby Bridge.

They can supply anything Bongo related and have a workshop where anything can be fitted.

They may well give a price on the web site but will certainly give a quote by phone or e mail.

http://www.bongospares.co.uk/

And if you pop a rough location in your profile someone will likely be able to suggest a Bongo Savvy garage near you.

Bongos are fairly old tech but the garage must understand the bleed method required after any work on the 2.5 ltr cooling system.
