ODB interface location

Post by JMH234 » Sun Nov 12, 2017 9:53 pm

Hi folks
I was wondering if someone could help i am trying to locate the ODB interface socket in my 2002 Bongo and will it be a ODB 2 or older and if older can you get something to make ODB 2 compatible. I have looked in and around the drivers and passengers footwells. Thanks for any help

If it has an ODBII interface then its on an added bracket on the underside of the dashboard just to the left of the steering wheel.

The vast majority of ECU's don't support OBDII at all! It is a simple error lamp flash code, there is no conversion to OBDII available. Later versions from late 2001 or early 2002 onwards had OBDII installed if the ECU's supported it. The error codes otherwise can be decoded using this site http://www.philmcfadden.co.uk/MazdaDiagnosticBox.htm or if your a member of the club there is a Factsheet on it asw ell.

If it's fitted, the socket will be under the driver side dashboard. Mine works fine with a standard reader.
