Removing the side door panel?
Hi.
I want to take off the door card of the side door to fit insulation. Does anyone know how I get the inside door handle off?
Does it just pry off?
Thanks!

lean on the panel around the handle and look behind, its a horse shoe clip, get a thin screwdriver and hook it off then full the handle off the splines.

That reminds me, I've been intending to ask how to remove the side door 'L shaped' window surround since I noticed it flapping around during the summer hols. Should it be held on several spring clips? At least two have fallen out of that area since I've had the van

Re: Removing the side door panel?
on the L shaped panel there is a spacer type stand off piece as well as the clips, this is the bit the bit that will have broken off, so now clips wont ness fix it im afraid.
Re: Removing the side door panel?
Is the spacer part of the original L panel molding or separate? I'm sure if it's just a spacer that's needed I can fabricate something and bond it to the L panel using an epoxy adhesive.Northern Bongolow wrote:on the L shaped panel there is a spacer type stand off piece as well as the clips, this is the bit the bit that will have broken off, so now clips wont ness fix it im afraid.
Thank you all for your help & advice

Re: Removing the side door panel?
its part of the panel, i did what you are suggesting on mine for a year or 2 until the squeaking repair finally drove me mad so i replaced it. .
Re: Removing the side door panel?
No squeaks from that area at the moment so perhaps I'd be best to leave it well alone. Or perhaps I can't hear it over the cups, pans and cutlery rattling aroundNorthern Bongolow wrote:its part of the panel, i did what you are suggesting on mine for a year or 2 until the squeaking repair finally drove me mad so i replaced it. .
