pressure test your bongo with this kit

worth buying and putting in your tool kit , if you break down in the middle of nowhere with a coolant leak issue it may just help you test the system and find the leak.
just needs a little mod to fix it either perm or temp into the system.

Okay so lets say I want to mod so that I can hook it up when needed. What would I need to do?

get a standard expansion tank cap and cut across the bottom seal so it cannot seal, or better still there are some caps around that just have the top seal and no bottom seal at all.

this is a flat cap that SHOULD NOT BE USED USUALLY ON THE EXPANSION TANK. JUST THE RAD TOP ONLY. BUT IS NEEDED TO BE FITTED TO TEST THE SYSTEM USING THE FOLLOWING METHOD.

https://www.ebid.net/uk/for-sale/mazda- ... gIYHfD_BwE.

THIS IS THE STANDARD EXPANSION TANK CAP, NOTE THE 2 SEALS.

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=mazda ... Ks68QyBbyM:

connect the end of the fitting in the link above, to the black 10mm pipe that is the overflow pipe on the expansion tank using a fitting/adapter piece of your choice, fit the single seal cap, then using a bike pump inflate the system to 1 bar pressure on the gauge, then watch the gauge, if you have no leaks it should hold pressure for at least a few mins. release the cap carefully to release the pressure safely. if a pressure drop is noted then you have a leak.

dont fit the fitting above to the bleed pipe, this may put air into your system YOUR CYLINDER HEAD if there is a leak. fitting this DRY tester to the dry part of the system (the expansion tank) will push the coolant down in the tank but will not introduce air into a good water tight system.
