Electric window switches.... again

Post by Gripped » Sat Jun 03, 2017 10:04 pm

This may have already been answered, but not sure.

The dreaded broken window switch befell me. So, I purchased a Mazda 323F replacement switch unit (the main unit with Auto window down etc). Worked perfectly on my 1997 Bongo. Got it from ebay new manufactured for £18. Brilliant, and nice fresh white writing on the switches too.

I got the same one for a friend with a 2000 year Bongo, and it fitted fine BUT, the switches operate the wrong windows !!! The wiring seems to be reversed.

Does anyone know why later Bongos have different wiring and also, which replacement switches would work properly? Would it be a later Mazda 323 or another model?

What I should add is: the new switches look identical, but the internals are completely different. Looks like they are now microswitches. Even the underside of the switch levers are different, so you can't swap the switch body over to solve the problem of the reversed wiring,

Thanks
