Sounds like an old diesel when cold

Post by Harry » Sat Oct 21, 2006 9:22 am

On start up when cold I'm getting a noise reminicent of an old diesel with a dodgy exhaust.

Goes away as soon as the engine has warmed up (a couple/five minutes max) then everything runs really smoot and quiet.

Its not the manifold studs...or the exhaust blowing...sounds as if the noise is coming from the front end...any ideas please???? :(

That's what I reckon too. Proably one glowplug as failed, so it will sound a bit lumpy.
