Dash button lights

Post by callum » Sun Oct 18, 2015 3:40 pm

Hi folks,
I did a quick search, but nothing came up, so thought i'd ask.
I noticed that one of the dash blind switches doesn't illuminate. I took them apart yesterday to clean them off to get them to work properly (which they do, up and down like a dream!), i noticed whilst i was there that the teeny lamp in it has blown. Does anybody know where i can get a replacement? Assume you need the whole bulb holder too? I didn't want to tug it too much!
I think there are a couple of others gone too, so i'd like to have a few.
Cheers in advance.

Model railway shops also sell them.

Useful info Rita and thanks. Anyone happen to know what bulb the BMW clock needs as mine appears to have given up.

So you just remove the bulb from the holder by unbending the two wires?
You know, i seem to be having flashbacks to when i changed the lighting in my 1990 Supra, and it was exactly that. I may even have some of the bulbs still! It was 8 years ago, so i'll let myself off! I'll check in the morning!

I managed to find one of those bulbs (lamp for the pedants!) In my box of wonders and so i now have 2 illuminated blind switches. Just need to wait for the ones i purchased to arrive and i'll tackle the demister one plus a couple of others i think.
Thanka for the help!

Hi folks,
I've just set about changing the lamps in the rear heater dash button and the engine heater thingy one (twin battery model, not using the switch though!).
I swapped out both and still neither are illuminated. The blind switch lamps illuminate, so are they all on the same loop/fuse i assume they are. No strange reason why these wouldn't work, the rear heater switch works as it should, as a switch. Just no illumination.
Any help appreciated!

Yes only a single circuit for all the TNS lights driven from a relay (E1-05) from the main lights switch;

Thought your not using LED's are you ? If you are then reverse the connections they are polarity concious.

No, i had those fun and games in my old Supra, sticking with standard in this.
Still very odd though.
