Starter battery

Post by Jim the Box » Wed Jul 24, 2013 8:34 am

Think mine is on the way out, having to charge it up after only standing for a week, disconnected it in case it was a drainage problem however it only just turned it over and no more this morning after only 3 days of not being used. Has anyone bought one recently £119 at Europarts for a Bosch is the best I can source, so if anyone can help me get a better deal please let me know where.

Is the correct battery an Bosch 068 with RH positive terminal

Thanks, Jim....

I replaced both my batteries recently. Only to discover that the bloke who I bought the van off had installed some led lights to the side of the door incorrectly and it was short circuiting the battery. The wiring was red hot. I'm lucky I didn't have a fire.

I've rewired it last weekend and sorted it. But it has solved a few niggly problems I was having such as why my brand new batteries never put out more than 12.5v, and why my solar panel would never fully charge the leisure battery. There both happily putting out 14.7 now.

Don't think that's my problem as my battery was disconnected from the terminals and is still losing power, I just want confirmation that I need an 068 bosch battery and £119 is a good price, I'm surprised someone has not sourced one cheaper. :?:

Loads of cheap batteries on EBay, the 444773357 Bosch Battery S4 335 from EuroCarParts is £102.00 at the moment (use code Battery15)

Or the same battery from Carparts4less for £85.50. (use code SAVE5)
