Window washer squirters not working
My washer squirter have stopped working. Took it to a local garage expecting the pump to have gone. But apparently the signal is not getting there and the pump is otherwise fine. They said it would be cheaper to fit a push button to make it work, should I go for this. If I remember right it was the negative signal is not getting there from the arm, has anybody heard of this? Would it be better to get a new(second hand) indicator arm or get the button?

Sounds to me like your local garage is talking B******s.
If you don't feel capable of taking it apart yourself and having a look at the pumps and connections, I suggest you take it somewhere else that know something about cars

Brief, and to the point.Poohbear wrote:Sounds to me like your local garage is talking B******s.

....but I think he's right
If you can't find a good local mechanic, there's always Adrian in Bury. He will be fixing my faulty washers next week. But really, any mechanic with common sense should be able to fathom it.

Hi Dazlamb,
It certainly sounds feasible'ish to me regarding your garages explanation...?!!
I feel an auto electrician not a general motor mechanic may be your best port of call......
& in my experience when fitting a rear wiper on light triggered from the switch stalk, off switches the led on...? Till a cunning use of a relay changed the confusion with the led...
A momentary switch ("push button") would do the job... But, a direct replacement wiper stalk plugged in would be an easier option... If the wiper stalk switch is at fault...?
We need Geoff in on this one....
Sorry guys above, i don't totally agree.... That;s the joy of forums.

Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...
Re: Window washer squirters not working
To be fair to the garage they did not charge me anything and gave me the number of an auto electrician, so maybe that is the way to go. I think they are honest guys it's just a bit of a shame when you go to the garage ,don't get something fixed and come back feeling a bit confused.

I guess they checked the fuse....
Re: Window washer squirters not working
Would the fuse not affect the wipers too??Simon Jones wrote:I guess they checked the fuse....

Very good point - well spotted . We don't know definitively if the wipers are working, but it would seem likely they are. If the rear one is also not working, my money would be on the earth connection under the near side headlamp.

Reckon that's about right. And fair enough, in that case its best they don't do it and at least they sound like they were decent about it all. I still think its worth calling a Bongo specialist in driving distance, in case they've tackled this one before. If not then Yes an autoleccy/mechanic with a bit of savvy.mikexgough wrote:sounds like they didn't want the job... IMHO
