Hi folks. I've come to the conclusion that my thermostat is knackered, so will obviously need replacing. While i'm doing this, i'm wondering if it's possible to clean out the header tank, cos I can't see through it. I have to shine a small torch behind it to check the level. Any ideas?
Regards
Toby

Have heard about washing powder and rice with vigorous shaking or bleach for an hour or 2

Re: Header tank
caustic with the house type pebble dash (canterbury spa i believe) mixed in to scratch the crud out works for me.
use small chippings though as the gaps in the baffles are quite small .
check the outside/underside for stress cracks while its out.

Re: Header tank
Or you could !!!! Fit a low coolant alarm and never need to visually check the level ever again...
