Oil advice

Post by Toby&Jules » Mon Dec 31, 2012 6:11 pm

Evening folks.

Just been into my local Asda, and they have Castrol GTX pretty much half price. Gonna do an oil change soon, so would it be a good choice? It says on the label it's for petrol and diesel engines. They have 5W-30, 10W-40 and 15W-40. Our Bongo is a 2.5TD. Also, can anyone tell me how many litres I need?

Thanks

6 and a bit (0.5 I think) litres of 5W-30 is what I would use.

See the Halfords thread - 4L of fully-synth or semi-synth 5/30 for £10.

I got the oil for my last motorbike service from Halfrauds and was pleasantly surprised at the price.

Thanks for all the advice. Went to get some today before they sold out. Already got a filter, just need a washer. We've got Mazda and Ford dealers here. Which is the best one to go to? I've never been in either.
