Whining Steering

Post by TimC » Mon Dec 17, 2012 9:55 am

Hi all.

Bongo has developed a whine from engine bay that seems to change with engine speed but seems to start when on full lock.

Power steering pump? A brief google doesn't seem to support the existance of such a thing for a Bongo though.

Otherwise, tensioner, belt or...

Thanks!
It's a 96 diesel auto for reference

Topped up and nice and quiet again. Leak from somewhere then...so got to work out where!

Will keep an eye on the reservoir to see how fast its loosing it.

Cheers!

I had a similar problem with my PAS.

I have been topping up with "Lucas Stopleak".

Leak seems to have stopped, however this was supposed to be a stopgap until the better weather.

I did not fancy changing the steering rack in the "P - - sing Rain".
