Diesel Pump leak

Post by flyfisher » Wed Nov 14, 2012 2:45 pm

Leaking Diesel from the bottom of the pump looks like a leaking tap with a constant drip drip similar to you household tap when washer has worn. Read that a common fault is the O Ring seal.

Is that a pump off job or can these be replaced in place are there any other likely causes?

have not posted for sometime as the old girl has not been playing up any advice appreciated

depends on the leak, there are 3 seals that fail in the pump, 2 on the sides (inside is awkward) and rear, if its side seals they can be done in situ, if its the rear, its best to get it out, even then its a mare of a job.

If you're a member of the club, there is a good factsheet on this...

It says you need small hands. ;)
