The bongo is now off to Ian Taylor who was very helpful on the phone
Watch this space....THE BEAST... will be back

I'm so glad you're sticking with the beast. I nearly bought from Ian Taylor. I liked him, and he certainly knows his stuff about Bongos. And you know how I feel about stuff :-)

update on my bongo, Ian Taylor has been fantastic, the head's been done, he put new boots on the front as the ones I had I couldn't drive back to Anglesey on  he's changed the gearbox oil and sorted the exhaust as it was blowing, picking it up Monday after lunch which happens to be my birthday...best birthday present ever 8)
I had visions of having to wait til after Christmas
All I can say is a massive thank you to everyone who has helped out =D> =D> =D> =D> and to top it all my little lad is on the front page of the Newsletter, not had it yet but Cat posted it on my facebook wall at my request :D Wayne was so chuffed he ran round with my phone showing everyone :D

so I quote again to confirm

'thank you to everyone for a great weekend and for the help, concern, jumper, cards, presents and kindness during and after our disaster, bongo peeps are the best :D '

Debs :D

I'm hoping Santa can get a similar result for our good friend Aitch. I'll be dropping him a line ;-)

this was/will all paid for by debs at the going rate mike. but a few people did what they could to assist. im sorry if people have got the impression that anything else happened.

my thoughts have also been with aitch, and as a long sever of the forum/community it would be nice if someone or a group could come up with a plan. we all do what we can whether its skills or financial . we have seen the generosity of people in the past---no names needed.
give it a shout mike you never know.

Absolutely no criticism implied Ady. Well if anyone can organise a fund, i'll contribute as before. Mind you i think Aitch is putting it up for sale, so may be irrelevant

thank you Ady, me too

ditto the thanks for all the people that have helped out.. you included =D> =D>

not looking forward to the bill tomorrow but I had a choice, sell it as it was and buy an old banger or borrow the money to get her back on the road, decided the latter was a much better idea, the bongo is not just for camping, it's for days out with friends and a bacon buttie and a brew, I've made so many friends through bongo fury and that is priceless :D

Nadolig Llawen (Merry Christmas) and see you all in a field soon :D and all that stuff

When I got my van weeks ago... It was just a van replacing a tent.
Then it kept going wrong... To long a list...plus it's on going.
We when on a 30 mile drive with no problems and iv started rubbing the dash ...saying good boy lol what's happening to me! I'm treating him today to a good clean and new glo plugs x oh dear lol.

I just think they are good little vans and we get attached to them x
Glad you have your van sorted deb xx :P

Also, don’t forget the steel pipe that runs over the top of the gearbox – I’m not sure how it was that this one wasn’t hissing coolant out :? The bracket that fixes it to the chassis acts as a crud trap and hides the corrosion that's festering away....

this one is bolted across the body over the gearbox front, and links the front heater return on the nearside chassis to the rear heater supply on the drivers side. the rusty bit and bracket finish just next to the exposed T that also gives grief, its the one on page one.

its not shown on lushprojects but its a follow on from 6130 at the bottom edge of this link.

http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html

or carries on from 6160 on this.

http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... 02.html#22

oh ive found it, 61-301 on this link.

Oh cr*p. Not another metal pipe i need to schedule for inspection and possible replacement. Guess i should have had them all done at the same time. You're one lucky b'stard Muz not having any go in Iberia or wherever.

Amazing support by Ady as usual. =D>
