Aero HID Headlamps - MOT pass

Post by Simon Jones » Fri Oct 05, 2012 9:05 pm

A while back, there was a thread regards later Aero models with factory fitted HID headlamps and whether there would be any issues with the new MOT rules. Happy to report, that my van sailed through with no advisories :)

This website suggests they have extended the period where they would issue an advisory, but as I didn't receive one, I'm hopeful it will not be an issue in future. It seems quite a grey area, especially with regard to headlamp washers (or the lack of)

I recently fitted HID lights to my motorbike and so just before my MOT was due I contacted the MOT station I use to ask if HID's would indeed fail the MOT, the answer I got was as long as they are at the right level's there would be no problem, new 12 month ticket issued with no advisories :D :D :D
Bongo no more........... ;-(
