Hello all! just joined the bongo world last week. Really excited! Regarding this topic, I do lots of design/manufacturing of plastic, rubber & metal components for work. I have easy access to many professional manufacturing tools (3d printers, CNC machines etc). With the exclusion of functional/safety critical components (for obvious reason) I'll might be able to help creating some spare parts. Let me know how can I help!

Welcome and hope you enjoy your new classic. Your skills sound very interesting and I reckon it could no harm chatting with both the Bongo Shop here and with Bongospares in Halifax to see where what you do might fit with what they need. Its great to see the support network for these classic campervans growing :-)

I wonder about de-gassing tanks, given the problems people have with stained ones and availability of "new" ones ?
I think Haydn looked into a metal version after cracks started to appear in some as I recall but the cost was not appealing at the time.

That's an interesting one. A few issues come to my mind:

1. These functional plastic components need to be injection moulded with suitable materials and welded. Nothing that can't be done, however the tooling cost will be significant. It can only work if there are enough people interested in this part and willing to split the tooling equally. I wish 3d printing was advanced enough to be an option in this case but we are not quite there yet.

2. An alternative is to go for the Aluminium option like the Delica guys. This solution seems to be working but it requires some welding, which will have an impact on the cost too (and good welding skills).

Furthermore, I am a bit reluctant to make any mechanical/functional parts. I am happy to make small parts for hobby (internal plastic/metal components etc) as long as they don’t take too much time. Functional parts require a completely different mindset to be done properly (testing, quality assurance etc). There is also a discussion around liability.

Obviously I would be more than happy to support but I don’t have the time/resources to take the responsibility of this :)

Get a Pela pump  But seriously, are they not a fairly generic/standard item?

Can you track down part no. 28012A, I've done a forum search and it doesn't appear that it's no longer available but everywhere I've tried is saying it's no longer available from Mazda.

I need two of them!

That's not a part number. That's a Drawing Number. Which page of the EPC was it on? What's the description?

Apologies Ian,
S10H28012 "Sheet, Rubber" from http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... f02.html#2

It shows as 28012A on that diagram, its a rubber gasket at the top of the rear coil springs. Two of them are keeping my van off the road currently!

Much appreciated,
Simon

Checked with Japan and part is no longer manufactured. Did a cross reference and part is not compatible with other vehicles. Sorry about that.

Air Hose FEMJ13752 no longer in production. Its the one thats wider at one end than the other. It fits the air intake pipe on the 2l. Although several sites list it, none can obtain it.

Should this be added to the list in that case or are you aware of an alternative supplier or anything?
