When selecting drive my bongo doesn't move!

Post by sunnyjim82 » Sun Apr 15, 2012 9:08 pm

I have a 4 x4 with some issues at the moment which will be resolved end of the week I hope!
However I have an unrelated question!
Every other auto I've driven moves slightly when you select drive(without any throttle) but my bongo doesn't?untill you give it throttle of course then it does,is this normal for bongo's?

Hi

I've always driven autos and thought the same as you however, the mazda autos do seem to be very smooth to engage. I don't think you have a problem.

Hmmm. Mine creeps forward in D and holds position on a slight incline.

Hi,

I would imagine that it depends on the RPM and the state of the clutch.

Cheers.

I wondered about this as on an slight incline it holds but too steep and it rolls back whilst in Drive, I assume this is normal, on the flat it creeps forwards slowly

Could it mean a problem then?

Have you checked the fluid level and it's colour ..??

An high tick over gives more 'creep' ...

You could pm Alacrity for his advice, as he's an autobox specialist, but I wouldn't worry as long ad its working ok (although I would check fluid condition and level and respond accordingly)
