Post by nicstrike » Sun Nov 27, 2011 7:42 pm

is there a secret technique to removing the mirror from the bracket that is bonded to the windscreen. there is small slot in the bottom of the casting but i can't see what is happening in there!

You need to insert a small flat bladed screwdriver in the slot and then slide the mirror upwards - the part on the windscreen has a tensioned arm that you move towards the screen with the screwdriver. Hope this helps. :)

If you wink your left eye whilst tapping your right foot whilst levering the mirror upwards... it'll make no difference whatsoever.

Be gentle when doing it as windsreens are expensive :( when I removed mine it was because the screen was being replaced as a nice Irish truck driver used my screen as target practice.

I couldn`t open the link either. #-o

i've picked up a replacement mirror as the one in the bongo looks like its got a big " thumbprint " on it , where damp has got between the layers. looking to swap them over.
