Turbo problems?

Post by Harry » Tue Jun 20, 2006 7:53 am

Hi gang...just back from two months in France

A couple of small disasters
Hose on rear aircon went followed immediately by water pump....Ford dealers in Manosque (Provence) sorted out new parts and fitted them in three days...good service.

However..several hundred miles later a high pitched hum has started when I accellerate hard....sounds a bit like a lawnmower...very intermittent and cdssapears when engine warmed up properly.

Had my local garage check the belts etc...they suspect the turbo

any comments?

thanks

The front one sheared on mine. I think I went about 4 months before getting it fixed. Worth the extra expense to get all 8 studs/nuts & the gasket changed. Expect to pay about £28 for gasket & about £16 for studs/nuts. Labour is probably a couple of hours, depending on how well the rest come out.
