MY Bongo is not well at all !!!!!!!

Overheated........ #-o

White smoke....... :cry:

and now it wont turn over :evil:

Im hoping it is not as bad as it seems, but im guessing head gasket/ cracked head !

Now she is on a trailer and about to be dropped off at AL Motors in Braintree.

What a crap start to the week !!!!!!!

Afraid it does sound bad :( If it won't even turn over, it sounds like a hydraulic lock caused by coolant in the cylinder(s) - good luck [-o<

I think it's moved to great leighs now, jonny bee put a post in the eastern counties section about this recently I believe.

edited, just checked, go to eastern section and look in servicing in the area at johnny bees post.

Yep in Braintree and nope....not a bongo garage as such......but the the guys know what they are doing and are bloody good at it ! =D>

I think it is a hydraulic lock.......but until the guys get the head of not sure of the damage :cry:

Will say hello to them bongo.... :)

Without telling them to suck eggs, suggest you print off the fact sheet regarding head/gasket replacement(assuming ther is 1?) as there are a few quirks with the bongo that an unfamiliar (no matter how good) mechanic may well stumble over.

Ouch!! Engine rebuilds on these arent that difficult but lots of hours labour, what about some of the complanies on fleabay that supply/fit enigines for about the £1000 mark?

Sounds a cheap quote to me, for retrofitting a clutch to an automatic Bongo.

Don't know anything about THIS LOT - But they are in Barking & it seems a reasonable price, bearing in mind that when I've paid for just a new head + ancilleries, labour & VAT its only a couple of hundred quid less than what they charge for the whole thing . . . . .
