Beeping!!!

Post by Duxass » Sat Aug 14, 2010 6:02 pm

I am sure that I have read something somewhere of how to stop the beeping when drivers door is opened and key is in the ignition.
Can anyone enlighten me as to where I can find the information before I go MAD??

Thanks

under the cowl behind the steering wheel......
There is a white coloured plug under the bottom cowl .......unplug that....and you will be sorted....

I managed to do mine and others by lowering the steering wheel and i managed to get my fingers through and unclip the connector......if you cant do that then you can unscrew the cowl the usual way....

This is the plug just gently pull it apart, but leave it in the plastic shroud so if you do want to push it back together again its dead easy.

Why would you want to - it's a great safety feature.

Totally agree, I forget how annoying the beeps are until I look at/work on a bongo that has them still enabled

I'm the same with Windows Sounds. Do people not know that the jingle when they start their computer is optional?

Not too keen on smilies either but at least they are silent (so far).

The best thing to do with the 'Bongo Bleep' is to tame it whilst still benefiting from its functionality. Poke a bit of matchstick into the hole in the piezo sounder. That knocks it back by quite a few dogBiscuits.

Many thanks to all who answered my plea for help. The beeping for ignition key has now been silenced, just the wife to sort out now!

Thanks again

Grr, defeated by the beeps! Had a go at silencing mine, found the connector but can't get it apart! Took three screws out of the cowl but it wouldn't move much and I just can't get my fingers or even a pair of pliers in far enough to get a good grip. Am I missing something?
