Any light when fuel deposit is "nearly empty"?

Post by Aitami » Sat Jul 05, 2008 10:18 pm

Does the Ford Freda has any light on anything that lets you know that you are on the "dangerous line" between running out of fuel and and being nearly empty?
I was waiting for some kind of light to come when my Bongo stopped (the deposit was empty).

Thanks.

There is no light, but I find that there is slight judder and a slowing down of speed. Then the bongo will not start. Any comment on this :?:

I believe the new shape ones have a warning light.

the new shape does indeed have a warning light - however haven;t quite figured out how long you have before empty from the light coming on

It's about 10 - 15 miles of VERY careful driving and in any event yiou would not want Bongo to start drinking the gunge at the bottom of the tank!

Ours (1998 old shape) has a warning light, we can get comfortably 40 miles after it comes on, and then filling the tank to the brim (it's a 65 litre tank) only takes about 60 litres, so there's more scope yet. But I daren't try it!
