Air conditioning or not

Post by Dago & Mrs D » Wed Oct 10, 2007 7:53 pm

Please can anyone tell me catagorically whether ALL Bongos have air conditioning or whether there are any which don't have it as standard?

Afraid not, although I've never heard of one without it.

Me neither. During our discussions with the firm that put the disastrous air conditioning in our Autosleeper (which is now on its 5th installation in 4 months!) I commented that a Boxer was surely the most bog standard vehicle and if they were so proficient surely they had fitted a system to one before. They said they had fitted loads. I said that if it had been an "odd" vehicle like a Bongo I could I understand it being "different" and maybe failing. They said they had fitted air conditioning to Bongos too. I didn't comment as wasn't 100% sure of my facts, but I though "lier", they all have air condition already. We've caught them out with another lie, reckon this is No. 2, would just like to have some evidence in case No. 5 installation fails and we have to go in with guns blazing!!!!!!

Have you got an Owner's Handbook? (can't find mine   )
That will probably show if it's an optional extra or not.

Never come across a bongo without both front AND rear aircon except when the rear aircon has been removed as part of a UK conversion.

Have seen a few without rear air con of any kind, but I think every bongo has air con in the cab of one sort or another.
Sound to me mrs D that your thoughts as to the amount of bull they are giving you is right.

Owner's Handbook just says that Air Conditioning can be either Automatic or Manual with Rear Air Conditioning (both automatic and manual) being a grade option.

So I would say that front air conditioning is standard in all Bongos.

Thanks folks - didn't think to look in the handbook ](*,) #-o Sounds as though my feelings about their integrity is correct :!:

Hoping that their latest adaption to the installation in Hilda will last the course. Consolation is that as long as we can't rely on Hilda, Monty gets a reprieve  In fact I can actually hear him giggling with a "I told you so" look on his radiator   Looking increasingly as though Monty remains a trusted member of the family.

It does say in the owners manual that the air conditioner switch is a grade option. (page 117) This refers to a diagram of the front heater controls on the previous page. So I think that they can't have been standard on all Bongo's.

The Mazda spec sheets on the Russian Owners site mention Air-Con as a standard.
