Just fitted a new sump plug, I found that a Ford part no.SP452 from the little shop down the road though a bit longer did the job perfectly well.

Well it did untill after filling her up with oil I found the plug washer in my pocket grrrrr!!, still debating whether to empty it all out or wait and see if it leaks.

Bulbs for dash switch illumination & climate control http://www.maplin.co.uk.
Coloured subminiature bulbs 3.2 mm dia - PG79L (green)
clear wire terminal type bulbs 3.17mm dia- BT43W. both of these are the same size as the window blind switches & will fit the climate control, but the clear bulbs are too small for the green "condom" from the climate control bulbs to stay on.
Clearwire bulb 5mm dia - WQ13P should be big enough to hold the green "condom", but I haven't tried them. <edit> I have tried them now, slightly too big to fit through the hole ( tore the condom :( ), could probably be opened out slightly?- I couldn't be bothered <edit>
The thin flexible wire legs are necessary to be able to refit them into the holders
12v coloured leds with integral resistors also available from them 3mm & 5mm, need a little bit of modification & soldering to fit as the legs are too thick & inflexible to fit directly back into the holders.
See this thread replacing bulbs & fitting led's

Yup, front foglamp switch plugs straight in I know as i`ve got one fitted in my van - the rear foglamp switch fits with a little mod to the wiring and about 6 to 9 inches of the wiring coming out of the back of the switch - It`s just a case of knowing which wire does what but you will need an additional LED to show you when the rear lamp is lit to pass the MOT. :)
If I had all the money I ever spent on my Freda ............ I`d spend it on my Freda.

if you look up PELA PUMP ON EBAY THEY ARE 30 QUID AND ARE FOR BOATS WHERE YOU CANT GET UNDER THE ENGINE TO THE SUMP DRAIN.
YOU STICK A TUBE DOWN THE DIP STICK AND SUCK UP THE OIL.
FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO CHANGE THE OIL WITHOUT GETTING UNDER THE CAR MAY BE WORTH WHILE

compatible relays

Post by forbesy » Mon Mar 17, 2008 7:43 pm

Due to spending many hours trying to find a fault that caused all my external lights to work apart from the headlights, i thought i'd let you all know a cheap way of replacing the two relays on the inner wing (passenger side) that illuminate all the external lights. These can be replaced using mazda 626 items which are a straight swap for the bongo items :D due to the position of these relays, the rubber jackets that are supposed to protect them actually fill with water & cause the relays to malfunction!!
