My Sliding door has jammed!!!!! Help!!!!!!

Post by tunoid » Wed Jun 27, 2007 10:26 pm

Hi Guys,

My sliding door has slid shut and never to open again.

I have read all the techie stuff and to be honest I am stuffed.

I am a Bongo lover with the mechanical flair of a processed pea.

I am also EXPLETIVE DELETED BY ADMIN broke and cannot get this problem fixed right now.

Is there anyone out there in the Redruth Cornwall area that could help me out and pop over and give me a hand (that has a chance of fixing it!!!)

I would take um down to the Star Pub and get um in a few real ales for their trouble.

Desparate.

Nick the Tunoid.

Can you tell us a bit more about it. Can we assume it wont open from the inside OR the outside.

Jave you tried disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it - some have said that door problems can be fixed by doing this.

I think I may start a thread about a thought I have on this kind of problem, namely wouldnt it be nice if there was some kind of support available from Mazda Bongo trained engineers in Japan (unless a UK based Bongo mechanic cares to reply to say they know the answer to this problem).

Cant offer help myself I'm afraid but it does concern me that even our gifted Bongo owners (e.g. Dandywarhol) have suffered and episode with a jammed door and don't know what to suggest as a cure.

Lets help tunoid everyone - it could be our door next. Bad news on a car that only has a single door giving access to the main passenger area :(

Not the battery approach

Post by tunoid » Thu Jun 28, 2007 11:51 am

Ok.

I have tried disconnecting the battery and this has not released the door.

I have tried pulling the door panel off and poking a stick down towards the mechanical looking stuff..... got covered in the Bongo Goo, as did the stick.

Its climbing in through the back door for now!!

Good luck. Hope that one or other of the things in the FAQ gives you a result soon. Did you check the fuse like it suggests?

child lock

Post by tunoid » Thu Jun 28, 2007 5:08 pm

Hi,

The child lock is on the inside of the door and the door cannot be opened from outside or inside. Is there access to the child lock that I have missed?

have you taken the pannel off completely and tried pushing or pulling the rods to open it manualy?

I have never done this so going by the fact sheet

if you release the door (open it manualy) leave it open disconnect the battery then reconnect it, keep fingers crossed, chant please be nice to me 5 times, it may hopefully resett itself

not sure about the fingers though
