I am in Aberdare and will be getting a quote next week as soon as I get my bongo back from the garage, I have had two portugese chaps locally recommended to me as being very good and very very reasonable, lol, will check it out and post on here. Incidentally, lol we were staying at a friends chalet at Caswell last week and I am amazed at how many bongos are in the Swansea area, saw three just going up to Mumbles hill with dogs, lol.

My son-in-law in Penygraig is a good lad. He's an excellent welder and will even put it through the MOT for you.

I get into the Aberdare on a regular basis and am also amazed at the amount of Bongo's in the area. Even more so when we went along The Gower a couple of weeks ago.

My arches will be done locally near Heathrow...so cannot help on the Swansea angle.

So which are best Transit MKIV or Sprinter arches?

Grannie Annie - could I your son-in-law's details please? I would really like to get our bongo sorted soon. It needs the arches repaired properly with new metal. There are also many other local Bongos suffering in the wheel arch department, so if he does a good job, I could put more work his way.

Give him a ring on his mobile and see what he can do for you. I must warn you, though, he's about to make me a Grannie for the 4th time - my daughter's baby is due any day now. But give him a ring and tell him I suggested calling him.

He's rebuilt a few vintage Fords so I should imagine so. Give him a ring and have a chat with him, go and have a look at some of his work. You can always say NO!

i cannot help with the swansea area, but here in glasgow i got the wheel arches replaced about 6 months ago. it seems like a reasonable job with the arches from a ford transit. cost--£400
