Doesn't come up in "search" using that exact term, Mike. Anyone?

Sounds like something to get checked over before attempting our mega-trek, anyway.

BTW, answering your earlier question, and as I see Chris hasn't been back on yet, she took her Bongo to Just Motors, Milford Haven, Bongo-friendly listed.
After further searching - these are the only directly relevant forum postings I found, Chris - although Glenda does say there were earlier cases reported. Probably doesn't help a lot but bongogeorge, at low mileage, is not entirely alone anyway, and I for one will also now be trying to keep a very close eye on these potential problem areas.

Yup, ours just failed at 42k miles (and only had it six months from a very reputable Bongo specialist). Garage quoted 450 to change, promptly did so but one failed immediately, they reckon there maybe a shaft problem :( :(
