Dunno when you are planning on visiting but be aware we have a meet in early October in Silverdale (see link) You could use that as a springboard whilst on your way up to the Lakes.

There isn't a great deal of wild camping in either the Lakes or Yorkshire dales national parks as its a bit frowned upon (in the Lakes many streams/rivers feed reservoirs and most car parks, even in the remoter areas charge for parking).

There are a few 'secret' spots used by BF members but its probably best to speak direct to them.

There are a couple of websites themed on wildcamping..try www.wildcamping.co.uk

If you can make it to the Silverdale meet you will get plenty of 'local' advice. Or if you want to call in to see me at my shop in South Lakeland, pm me beforehand. Good wildcamping outside a pub just down the road.

cheers
