Local members and their skills
Has the Yorks /NE group a list of members with repair skills? I've just got my second Bongo, after a couple of years without, and am happy to help others in the area with probs that I've solved on the van over this time.
I'm not a mechanic, background is electronics, but sometimes just having someone there who's done the job before can help.
Case of wanting to put a bit back into the club for all the advice I've had in the past.

Great idea Iain. I've helped local members with simple stuff (and NeilT has helped me too when in need). Its fun and makes for a sociable break from the usual routine, plus a good feeling knowing that tight budgets have been helped.

Re: Local members and their skills
.... and I thought cleaning the heater motor out with diesel in the back room was a bad move - now I know it's perfectly acceptable !!
Back to topic,if anyone wants to PM me with name, contact nr, and a few lines startin'
"I'm not a mechanic, but I can........" I'll compile a database to - maybe Ian could add it to the members section - come to think of it - there's one there already !!
(Still happy to do a Yorks/NE one if any interest)

Re: Local members and their skills
Will it need planning permission?
Re: Local members and their skills
only if it's bigger than a 3x 3
Re: Local members and their skills
well never fitted a conservatory to a bongo but, ive gained a bit of self taught knolledge of haveing owned 2 bongos, the first i stripped and sold off for parts and taught myself a bit of know how and my new (ish) one has had some general repairs done by me and a garadge and a body shop , I am quite used to the "usaul" faults ect and can diagnose a few too so dont mind helping out or metting for a bit of bongo bonding
