Passing of a friend, Alant54

Post by PixieAndTheMoon » Mon Sep 09, 2019 12:02 pm

It is with great sadness that I am sharing the news of the passing of Alant54. His loving wife Dee asked me to put a post on here, as Dee herself did not know how to. After a short illness, Alan died comfortably and peacefully on Sunday 8th September 2019.
Those of us that knew Alan will know what a lovely, generous, upbeat man he was. Alan, was a big part of the NW Crew and will be sadly missed by many of us. I am sure many of our thoughts are with Dee and his family.

Terribly sad news. :(

We knew Alan well and he was indeed a splendid fellow.

Please pass on our love to Dee and their family and loved ones.

I've just got off the phone from Dee. She's bearing up OK given the circumstances, and we shared a few funny moments from Alan's colourful past. I will post here details of funeral etc as soon as they are received.

We will miss you, Alan.

Oh jeebers that is terrible news. Alan was the best of company at the NW meets and at the Bongo Bashes, and it was a big deal when he managed to get Bongoing again with a new machine. I don't know how to contact Dee other than through this forum but if you're reading this Ian please pass back mine and Trish's deepest sympathies to Dee and give her a big hug from us. And rest in peace Alan - you were one of the good guys.

We're so sorry to hear this sad news. He will be missed.
Allan's closed. We recommend PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services in Plymouth.

Yes I'd almosf forgotten, but Alan was one of those who persuaded me that owning a Bongo could be a practical proposition. I owe him a great deal for that. A great guy.

For those of you going to the cremation and wake, meet 2pm at The Roundhouse pub, 121 Heath Road South, Weston, Runcorn WA7 4RP at 2pm. This is opposite Alan & Dee's house.

Will depart about 2.30pm to go to Walton Lea Crematorium, Chester Rd, Walton, Warrington WA4 6TB. Service is at 3pm.

Back to The Roundhouse afterwards.

I will be going to represent the club.

EDIT: Forgot to mention date! It's on Thursday 26th September
