North West Big Autumn Bash 2014 (Silverdale Revisited)

Post by Harry » Tue Sep 02, 2014 9:53 am

It is 10 years since our first meet at Gibraltar Farm and in that time many of us have developed strong friendships with other bongonaughts. Some are now Bongones. This meet is open to all who either have bongos or have had bongos.

Dates are Friday 17th October to Sunday 19th October.

I've booked a few hookup pitches and we have exclusive use of their 'overflow' field for non hookups.

Gib farm have upgraded their facilities and this is reflected in the prices...hope it doesn't put you off!

I'll be handling the bookings for the Friday and Saturday nights. If you want to extend your stay either side you will need to book direct with the campsite. www.gibraltarfarm.co.uk.

Please bring gazebos, chairs, tables etc to make up a communal area which will be sited on the overflow field with views across the bay.

There is now a strict rule about noise. No excessive noise after 11.00pm and no loud music at any time. (how many of us remember seeing in the dawn at previous bashes?)

Programme (flexible)
Friday from 6.30 to 11.00 acobs Join and social drinks

Saturday day...a ramble around Silverdale which might just include a call at the BEER & CIDER FESTIVAL at the Woodlands Hotel.

Saturday evening....Communal BBQ/meal (bring your own barbie)

Sunday morning....Auction of unwanted/excess camping gear and bongo bits before departing for home.

Prices:
Hard Standing pitch with hookup and closer to the facilities. For large campervans and caravans. Awnings permitted but no seperate tents. £38 for the weekend (2 nights). 5 pitches available.

Grass pitch with hookup (on t'other side of central driveway from facilities) suitable for small campervans (eg Bongos). Awnings permitted but no seperate tents. £36 for the weekend (2 nights)
5 pitches available.

Grass pitch in the overflow field with hookup suitable for bongos awnings and tents allowed. £36 for the weekend (2 nights) 4 pitches available.

Grass pitch without hookup on overflow field. Small campervans and tents (no large campervans or caravans) £12 per night.

Booking: Bookings will be accepted strictly on a first to pay first served basis. You can pay by:

Credit/Debit Card...telephone 015395 35910. If you get the answerphone then please leave your telephone number and I'll call you back. Please do not leave your card number on the answering service.

or

Cheque....made out to H J Ashcroft and posted to Harry Ashcroft (Bongo Meet), Devonshire House, Kents Bank Road, Grange over Sands, Cumbria, LA11 7HF.

Please include your contact details so that I can confirm with you direct.

More pitches may be available if I can book early enough?

cheers

Harry. Put me down for one of the hard standing pitches with a hookup near the loo for the weekend. You know that I have a 6M long 2WD motorhome now (no hand signals please). Not the pitch that floods if it still does. [-o< . I have 2@ 25M cables and will bring both if you think that extensions will be needed on some pitches. I also have a twin splitter and a 25m mobile mains power unit, just tell me what you need.

Same as Alan and Brian, leccy please. Not bringing caravan so just bongo. Will ring you, asap, i.e. now.

Sounds like a good do Harry, will join in the ramble, especially if it entails copious amounts of alcohol, hopefully not to many sheer cliffs on the walk back

How about payment by bank transfer, quicker method and less hassle of the lot???????

Thanks =D>

Just to make things a bit clearer re pitches....Each pitch = 1 vehicle + its tent/caravan/awning. Groups of friends/large family groups camping together may have to pay extra.

Bookings are taken on the basis that everyone undertakes to abide by the 'camping ettiquet' as detailed on www.gibraltarfarm.co.uk .

Hookup slots are filling up fast...please only book a hard standing pitch if you really need to...ie large campervan or caravan.

cheers
