Hill of Oaks 2011 - Fri 6th/Sat 7th May

Post by Diane » Thu Mar 24, 2011 5:03 pm

Right then – who’s up for another gathering at the lovely Hill of Oaks on the shores of Lake Windermere? I have managed to get 14 pitches (none on the Lakeside this time though). I have booked for Fri 6th and Sat 7th May which is the same weekend as the last two years which, weather wise, we have done really well with.

As there are a limited number of pitches I think the fair way is to take bookings on a first come first served basis. So if you want to come, stick your name down and we’ll take it from there.

All the bookings are to go through me please and not the site. The cost is £16 per night inclusive of leccy. Priority will go to those requiring two nights. I will require full payment to be sent to me on a date yet to be specified. I am moving house between now and May, so will let you know when and where I need the cheques sending to :)

This is a caravan site, so strictly NO TENTS are allowed. It has to be an awning. It’s to do with the site's licence. The pitches are completely hard-standing gravel over hard-core, so you will need hard ground pegs for your awnings.

I figure the same format as previous year’s works just fine so I’ll stick with that - on the Friday night we shall have a Jacobs Join in the marquee next to the lake, from around 7.30PM. For those of you new to this, all it means is we will have a buffet and you need to bring a contribution - sweet, savoury or drink. This is of course optional but the rules are if you want to eat something you have to have brought something. It’s the law.

On Saturday late afternoon/early evening we will aim to have a BBQ by the lake. Again this is optional. Just do what ever you are comfortable with.

So far on the list I have

1. Me
2. waycar8
3. dandy girl
4. jetskier
5. Muz
6. JDS
7. mister munkey
8. MountainGoat
9. PixieAndTheMoon
10. The Shadow
11. bongobaz
12. dreamwarrioruk
13. hatris
14. Blobber
15. jimc954
