Di,
Hope you don't mind me asking on this thread for a BONGO RELAY. [-o<
Mountaingoat has kindly offered to take a car roof box to Scotland for me, its for Brorabongo, depending on arrangements he is making for some work on his bongo, he may not be able to pick it up from me.
#-o
I was wondering if anyone from the N/W area going to Hill of Oaks could take the roof box from ST Helens area (i could meet you somewhere handy for both of us) to the Hill of Oaks meet for Tony (mountaingoat) [-o<
Thanks in advance. :D

I've been in touch with the site today and all is well. For those of you new to Hill of Oaks there are two entrances. The south entrance has a barrier which stays up all day till around dusk. The north entrance has a barrier that stays down all day and night. If you arrive after dusk and the south barrier is down you will need to head to the north entrance (about half? a mile) where you will be able to access the site using a key pad. The code for this is 1828. There is no key pad on the south entrance. You will need this code to get off site each time so please make a note of it 8)

When you arrive on site you need to head for the touring park and I'll be there in the dirty white, fly covered rusty bongo. I'll have a list of pitch numbers for you to choose from.
The marquee will be down by the lake again so if you get to the touring park and there's nobody around you will need to head down the hill. The lake is only a few minutes walk from the touring park.
The mobile phone signals are a bit poor on site. I use Orange and I can sometimes text and maybe make a call if i'm on the end of a jetty. I think Vodaphone is the only one that works OK.

NEED A BOAT FOR THE BIG RACE?

Searching my loft today for a missing portable stove I came across a pair of Italian made Selrig IV dingys that I used to mess about in on Lake Ullswater with my nephew. They come complete with oars that can be joined together to make paddles, inflatable seats and life jackets and an inflator. I blew one up and it seemed to be fine but I can bring a couple of patches with me just in case.

Good job I told Amanda yesterday she needed to stick a cheque in the post for this as for some reason I thought it was next week  , lost a week somewhere, so Courtney kindly reminded me that its this weekend and not next so I wont bother with the cheque as it wont clear in time

Strangley I was supposed to be working away in London this weekend as well, boss forgot to tell me a month ago but kindly mentioned it on tuesday that they dont need me to go now because its been put back for 4 weeks

So all in all its turned out to be good week, roll on friday 8) , I wouldnt have missed Hill of Oaks for anything, well car troubles may have scuppered that Idea as this morning went out to go to work fired up the motor and the ABS light stayed on!, got to works the brakes worked ok so did the usaul checks, fuses brake fluid, checked the lights and both rear bulbs had gone :? , 2 new ones in and the ABS light was off.

Im in Carnforth at the moment looking across Morecambe bay towards the lakes, there has been a cracking thunderstorm on the far side of grange, and im now sat here listening to what seems like 60mph winds here and a terrific downpour...........hope your awnings are well pegged down [-o<
