Magnetic Awning Rail

Post by Shebnpep » Sun Jun 13, 2021 6:34 am

Morning fellow Bongarians,
I searched on your excellent forum topics, but may have missed the correct search phase. Anyway, I was always told, there is never a stupid question. So hear goes.
Has anyone looked at/ successfully used the following.
Halfords Olpro Magnetic Drive Away awning Kit?

Don't really want to drill and screw an awning rail onto our bongo ( still to be named!).

Thankyou, in anticipation of your collective feedback.
Cheers
Sheb

I seem to recall someone commenting while ago that a magnetic rail was fine until it got windy, then it was a danger as it blew off!
I think most people use a Fig-8 clipped onto the gutter rail and then connect onto that either directly or using the connecting strip to make it easily removable and leave the fig-8 attached to the van.

Geoff, thanks for the feed back.
I do have some lengths of 6mm and 8mm figure of 8's so will give it a go.
Much appreciated.
