I'm sorely tempted to go and have a look. He has some at a good budget, i emailed him and some of the gumtree vans were sold and he had others in stock at similar prices, so appears to be doi g some buisness.

But google shows no reviews or experiances either..

Hi

You might want to check the mot history of the vans he has for sale. The mileage is quite different to.the advertised mileage and some don't have current MOTs despite what the ad says, although I suppose he might be intending to put an MOT on.

Ive contacted him regarding one of his vans , I did a hpi check and it said it was an auto but in the pictures its a manual ! seems a it weird , van looks in good nick though , its a 2.5 hour drive to Hawick long way to go to take a look .
Will have to get more info off him .

When i had emailed him he got back to me telling me he had a few that fit my bill and to give him a phone.... I think as with any used car the only way to know for sure is to go.... Its a long way but maybe make a day of it?

I think that's what I will do Rich , I suggested going down this morning but apparently looking at 20 year old camper vans is not what you do on mothers day

This is the first that I knew there was a Bongo dealer in Hawick. But then I have been out of it a bit lately having sold my Bongo privately 3 years ago and moved up to a motorhome to please my other half.

But looking at the adverts I would be suspicious about clocking. The mileage of these Bongos appear to be on the low side given their age, especially the second Bongo. Only 3,495 miles for a £3,495.00 Bongo which is 21 years old has got to be a misprint unless the clock has been wound back after having a new head.

yeah think mileage looks suspicious on a few , he still hasn't explained why the pictures show a manual but on the hpi check its a auto .
He has no idea when cambelt changed or when last serviced too.

I've arranged to go for a look next Saturday , will go through it with a fine tooth comb, also negotiate cambelt and major service off the price .

I wouldn't be too concerned that the HPI check shows it as auto. It's only as good as the data provided by DVLA / VOSA and it's not that uncommon to hear of vehicles being recorded incorrectly. It is also feasible that it has been converted from auto to manual at some point in the past.

Had a look at these on Gumtree and scrolled down and there's another Bongo for sale in Newcastle for £17995.Most expensive I've ever seen.

Here's a handy tool to check MOT history back as far as 2005. Even handier if someone has changed the speedo to record miles
