Post by Driver+Passengers » Mon Oct 27, 2014 10:30 am

Anyone up for a night away before they salt the roads? Happy to cook something. Any takers/suggestions?

We might be up for this.

Had a trip to the Squirrel at half term, it's great now the summer rush has died down.

Not available until 12th November. I have my old college pal from Baghdad staying with June and I until 11th November.

It was actually Matt who visited the site before me and recommended it, no camp fires but has a mess room/games/tv room we can use, don,t know if it,s still open for business at this time of year it is a smashing wee site for a meet toilets showers etc were spotless cleanest I have ever seen, if it is open it could be quite a long journey for people North of the forth.

I'd be up for the Squirrel, or Drumroamin.

Drumroamin is definitely open. The stargazerslounge.com Galloway Star Camp is Wednesday 19th November to Monday 24th November 2014. Strict rules regarding light levels (eg blackout your windows, red cellophane over internal lights, don't use white torches, etc...). I don't know if they'd be willing to have two "rallies" on the same weekend, but... if you're interested in peering back in time and drinking whisky if it's cloudy (whisky knackers your eyes for stargazing), then depending on numbers, that's a possibility... at least one of them has a Bongo.

[Edit: I can't make that weekend. :(]

Suggest a weekend you can make Matt, can't have you posting for a meet and then us choosing a weekend you can't make.

I will sit down with the boss and work it out. To be honest, I might be pushing it trying to get away just now... :(

I'd be up for a winter trip if I can escape. Been very busy all year so not been looking on here much. Near Oban at the moment .. Dry this morning but very soggy underfoot. Mike
