Diesel Polution

Talk about non-Bongo stuff. BUT KEEP IT CLEAN....there are children watching. Smut, filth, and anything offensive will not be tolerated and removed immediately.

Fake news! Or so I was told by a certain Captain Pedersen of the Maersk Seafarer 2 down the pub the other night.......

That article is a bit dated "April 24th, 2009".
Few ships are good environmentally (but you also need to consider the load they carry!) but there is a big confusing mixing of facts and info in that article, the Emma Mærsk is now over ten years old and plenty of other later versions are improved see here;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emma_M%C3%A6rsk
the other seven of that class; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A6rs ... ainer_ship
a further 30 ships of even larger scale 2nd/3rd gen versions; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maersk_Tr ... ainer_ship
and if you like pictures of ships then this site is the with out question the best! https://www.maritimephotographic.co.uk/ ... /merchant/

There's two ells in pollution Ben, unless you're talking about toilets :lol: [-X 8)

Generally, i'd have thought, large ships don't sit in congested urban streets belching particulates that get inhaled by people in nearby densely populated areas before said particulates fall to earth/sea. Back in the 80s mind you, i was very interested in work being done on wind assistance technology for ocean going ships. Beats me why this has still not moved on to implementation since, as The Tesco Institute for Deep Thinking opined: every little bit helps. :roll: :lol:
