HELP: Rav4 2005 going into limp mode when throttle pressed

cheers alan, ive just bought something similar, but with a different engine. lots of these direct injection vw engines, both petrol and diesel appear to be suffering the same problem.
has it got just under 60,000 miles on it, this seems to be the problem milage.
