I agree with that sentiment, the 2.0 will get up everything in the end! Just frustrating at times when others don't keep the momentum from the downhill going into an uphill and leave the poor old Bongo struggling

Just back from Cornwall (never been before, I have definitely missed out as it was fantastic!) we travelled about 900miles in all and a rough calculation gives just over 31mpg average for the whole trip, not too shabby.

Not shabby at all, esp considering Cornwall has lots of ups, downs, and narrow lanes. =D>

We thoroughly enjoyed Cornwall too, we split our 10 days, 5 in Bude, Cornwall and then 5 in the New Forest Hampshire. Definitely less hills in Dorset...

Here are my statistics over 35,000km - you seem to be getting great results.

Just noticed your 2.0lt is a tin top, mine has the AFT, so this would possibly account for the slight drop in average MPG.

As the original poster I thought I would bring matters up to date. On another thread is the saga of my old 4 wheel bongo being written off and being replaced with a Ford Freda which is a 2 wheel drive.
Surprising to me on a recent recorded trip my mpg was only 28 mpg. I don't think my driving style has changed. The trip was mainly motorway/dual carriageway my speed was about 65mph there and back on same day wind direction would have been the same so benefit and or loss would have cancelled each other out. This one has half the kilometreage as my original similar fuel. Any thoughts?
