34.5 MPG achieved average over 2750km from Ingleton to Dolo

What's the MPG like? Can I use chip fat and veggie oil? What about LPG?

Just Achieved 34.5 average over 6 fuel stops from Ingleton North Yorkshire via Hawich, Holland to Dolomites in Italy & back.
Not an eco run though used kick down when ever I needed to, 65mph cruise it's not a flat run quite hilly. No additives or special treatment just standard Diesel ( 2.5 TD).

Ps. Austria had cheapest less than a pound a litre :)

Excellent results. Is yours 2WD or 4WD?

I averaged 18 mpg on LPG towing my eriba caravan recently, average speed was about 50 mph as quite a bit of my journey was on single carriageway roads. I normally average about 22 mpg without the eriba on tow using LPG and the best I've had is 26 mpg running on petrol.
I seem to save about 10% on fuel if I run at 55 mph rather than 70 mph.
That's a great price for LPG, it's about 57p per later in the Edinburgh area.

That's a very good price Brian, can you give us the name of the site please, I have friends down that neck of the woods travelling about in a very large Gas Guzzler.

Rita, I think that this place is a bit basic to have a web site but they call themselves 'The gas station', original! It's tucked behind a garage/workshop on Pershore Road, Stirchley, opposite the car hire outlet, can't remember the name but it's the only one. The owner claims to have the cheapest gas in the country and I think he's probably right. Most of his trade is to taxi drivers. Not long ago he had one tank and one pump but now has four tanks and two pumps and has a delivery every day so he must be making some money.

Thanks Brian I will let them know, I think this one was mentioned a wee while back as the cheapest in the UK.
