Re: new member
Just a thought, but could it be air being sucked in to the fuel system? There are 2 o rings on the fuel pump that are known to perish over a period of time.

Injectors back in leak off rail on started still smocking on no 4 but as soon as engine gets warm took about half an hour. It stops smocking so the longer it runs the better it gets
So i am thinking valve adjustment to much gap when cold closes as it warms up or worst case piston rings .I have run it with the crank breather pipe off there is some pressure but no smoke or with the oil filler cap of but as you can imagine lot of oil splash .
I did notice a noise like a thin tin plate rattle every now and then like it was from inside the rocker cover as there are no thin plates any were around there where sound came from so i don't know and rain has now stopped play

Re: new member
It’s it a different injector in no 4
Re: new member
yes swapped them over number 3 in number 4 loosen the pipe of no 4 injector smoke stops until engine warms up then the smoke reduces till none visible
Re: new member
Could be air if compressions seemed similar maybe tiny amount of air seeping in then sealing up when hot

Re: new member
Slightly off topic, being a manual makes it a rare one.
2002 Friendee 2.0 ltr Petrol.
Re: new member
Yes so i believe i did not pay a lot for it last was mot june 2015 hence why i have a engine problem but it was driven to me 50 odd miles.
It has about half Hour welding to do just behind both front wheels rest of the chassis / sills are solid tidy inside its mainly stuff sticking but i think when its done it will be worth a bit or being a bit rare may be not we shall see

Checked valve clearance all ok rechecked compression via glow plug my adapter fitted tested each cylinder over 300 psi on cylinders and held that pressure for 5 minuets at least till i released it my gauge only goes up to 300 but compression went of the scale so to speak so now i am getting confused good compression good injectors valve clearances ok.
I don't think fuel pump as a rotary pump does not usually create this type of problem .
bent con rod am i clutching at straws now

Re: new member
Got to be pump I’ve not had one apart but if each injector pipe is fed by separate compression piston no 4 might be us
Re: new member
I think it might be the way to go but , today i blanked my egr but i noticed when i checked if the plate had sealed it had, but the inlet side gaskit blew of big time so my inlet is blowing not sucking like i thought it should be
Re: new member
I think in a diesel it is normally pressured
Re: new member
i understand but i could blow a tyre up with how much pressure there is coming out
