Where I've been for the past 3 months

Post by Jillygumbo » Mon Jun 15, 2020 10:10 am

You might well ask! Well - nowhere! But I have been sleeping in the bongo almost every weekend. Been going out for day trips at the weekend lately too!

I'm still working full time, albeit I now WFH (work from home) and this is likely to be the case indefinitely. My bosses have decided that as the majority of the people are perfectly capable of WFH with the right equipment, which they've provided, then this will solve the overcrowding and parking issues forever!

OMG I so miss my morning Costa with Jenny though!

I haven't dared to think about getting away yet, but some friends are beginning to plan so I'll play along with them, I think.

I was going to do a Northumberland tour in July, but I don't feel confident enough about that now to do any further planning. So I'll stay a little more local for the time being (not that I can go 'outside' camping yet!).

I'm hoping the Looe meet will go ahead, as I'm booked with Allan Bugg at the same time for service/MOT. So I'll be in Devon and Cornwall anyway.

I'd better get to work now, I've got a long commute!

Strange times, indeed. :?

I retired just before the flap started so me and Mrs B had pretty much settled into a routine, however, we both greatly miss our trips away.

That said, I've treated this as an opportunity and got the outside of the house painted (been putting that off for some good while) and got on with a lot of DiY.

I've also discovered some jolly useful tools I didn't know were out there.

JIS Screwdrivers, thanks Geoff.

Tripod ladders.

Hori Hori, Japanese trowel/knife for garden use.

Screw extraction pliers.

All things I don't know how I managed without, and it's been great to have friends round for a drink in the garden the last week. You realy do appreciate pals when you can't meet up.

Likewise! House is looking good now. So's the garden! Garages could open for urgent repairs. Trouble is my customers were locked down. So I had a lot of free time. I made good use of it at home.

Then did the same at work - cleared, painted, renewed.
Risk assessed.
Bought in the products recommended for working safely (during the pandemic) in the motor industry.
Its looking good now and as safe as possible.

Back at work full-time from today. And the sun's back out here in Plymouth!

PS I'll see you soon Jill!

Been out and about quite a lot lately, whenever possible to get away from all the idiots out there. Now Swindon's Covid cases are rising. Hopefully people will follow common sense and do what I do - don't go anywhere where there are loads of people, wash hand, etc, etc.

Anyways, there'd better not be a lockdown here, cos I need Tonto to see Allan next month!

Oh dear! back in Lockdown and back in the back garden. This was us last Friday evening - smoking out the neighbours, but they got their back on Saturday night. Shame we stayed in the house eh (until bedtime that is).

Oh yes, I'm telling fibs. That photo was from first Lockdown. Need to send firepit photo to my work laptop to be uploaded here

I managed a sneaky trip on Sunday! I exercised the bongo by driving it, I exercised the dog and myself in lovely wooded footpaths at Cholderton. Then I ate a lovely Sunday roast in the bongo, in the car park of Tim's pub!

It was lovely. It wasn't sneaky at all really.

Sounds very nice indeed.

I'm grateful for the week we had in Plymouth just before the latest lock down.

Visiting so Allan could do our Ferdinand's medical and service. Bit of naughtiness, but he's pronounced fit and legal for another year. 8)

Roll on 2nd December! Is this the longest shortest year ever?
