Hello folks,
A few years ago we bought a Bongo off my inlaws. I set about building my own conversion and documented it quite extensively on here (have a gander at my posts if you feel like it).
Circumstance meant we had to sell it.
Present day, i bought a Mk1 Mercedes Vito MPV a few months ago as something to fit a removable pod into, that pulls out into a bed.
But...
My wife really did prefer the Bongo. And i do too.
So...
Have i missed anything in the last 4 years? My budget is as normal, pretty low.
If we were to get one, it'd be an AFT. Other than that, i'm not fussy, would need at least short MOT of course.
So, what sort of price do they go for now in the real world? No conversion required as i'd build my own.
I would assume my Vito is worth around £1500, so that plus a bit is about where my budget is at.
Any information about what is around would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Callum

Re: To buy a Bongo or not
Hi Callum. Short answer is they've got rustier, probably more so in that price bracket. I think you've either got to have the skills and the kit to deal with that or else the wallet. But they're great cars, which is why I've hung on to mine for nearly 13 years and forked out on welding work (and a broken AFT, as that will often play up with age)
