Time to say goodbye..... or NOT!
Time to say goodbye..... or NOT!
Hi all,
Well after 4 years of ownership, loads of work, 3 European tours and some very happy memories I am debating whether to sell the old girl or continue the journey. The reason I am asking this question is mainly because I want to be talked round , however I also want to gauge the overall market interest and what she’s worth??
I Apologise for the post being pic heavy but sometimes pictures just say it better Enjoy our journey!
Regards

With a beaut like that, all the work, and all the memories, I'd be keeping her.
Many more adventures to come with a little luck.

Keep it.
We're now into our twelfth year and wouldn't be without it, it's part of the family.

Agree with Bob (and Muz who snuck in while i was typing ha ha). If the underneath has been sorted like the topside and the inside, I'd be keeping her. Unless you dont want to tour/camp any more, what else is going to be as good without spending serious money. And even then the Bongo has one or two design advantages others dont have
Re: Time to say goodbye..... or NOT!
The only reason I am contemplating selling is to purchase another property which is causing a dilemma.
The underneath is as solid as the top (with extensive repairs carried out).

If you're looking at a second property remember the extra 3% stamp duty, and look very carefully at legislation, including proposed, if you're looking to rent out.
Re: Time to say goodbye..... or NOT!
That's a good point Bob, and as it's under the magic 125,000 I should be OK. Deposit or bongo

Re: Time to say goodbye..... or NOT!
It's 3% on top of whatever the stamp duty would be for your main residence.
ie £100,000 (Second) property = £3,000 tax.

Re: Time to say goodbye..... or NOT!
One might be forgiven for thinking that.
Theres 100% council tax payable when it's empty, too. Redecorating is no excuse.
Seriously, if you're looking at 'buy to let' spend a good bit of time searching the landlords' forums and look at what's happening in the market.
Many small landlords are selling up and it's important to understand why before commiting.

OK thanks Bob, will definitely look into it a little deeper.
So, after a very hard decision (and plenty of wine). We have decided to part ways with our bongo and let someone else have the pleasure of making them unforgettable memories. The main reason now being that it will just got be getting used enough due work ect and it's such a shame to see her sat on my drive not being driven and enjoyed.
