Bongo 2l or 2.5 v6

Post by stephens1971 » Tue Apr 02, 2019 1:31 pm

Hi I’ve been looking to buy a 2 litre petrol but not had much look so far, but was thinking about viewing 2.5 v6 could anyone tell if there are any advantages or disadvantages for going for the larger engine also is there any problems to look for other than the usual.Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Welcome aboard. 8)

Pretty much what you would expect - the V6 is much more powerul and much more complicated, read expensive to work on.

The bigger unit is also very smooth.

There's not the fuel saving you might think as the 2 ltr is working that much harder, but I'd say a sound vehicle would be the decider.

I went for the V6 as Bongo's need all the power they can muster !

I am also a sucker for a nice sounding engine, so the V6 was a no-brainer for me. They are all reliable engines and the V6 is a bit more complicated, but I would still prefer the extra oooomph of the V6.
