Drive away awning with a Fiamma
Drive away awning with a Fiamma
Hello all ... our Bingo is fitted with a Fiamma wind out awning (a 45S). We would like to also get a drive away awning - possibly an Obelink Maritime or similar - and we are wondering about how the two will work together. Specifically how the awning fits to the van with the Fiamma in place. Do we need the beading adapter kit to make this work? Sorry for the rookie question ... we’ve only had the van for less than a month, so very new to all of this. Thanks for any advice you more experienced Bongo folks can offer.

Re: Drive away awning with a Fiamma
Check that your existing Fiamma has a slot on the front;
After that its just make sure that the drive-away awning has the the correct size bead to go into the slot, the Fiamma slots tend to be the smaller 6mm size rather than the larger 8mm ones I believe.

Actually I think thats 4mm and 6mm rather than 6 & 8.
Re: Drive away awning with a Fiamma
Great thanks. (Lightbulb moment!!) ....
We have now had a close look at our Fiamma and indeed it does have the slot in question. Good info about the size, though. Need to do a bit of research to make sure we got the right adaptor strip for both van and awning. More googling coming up I think ...
Thanks again ....
