Bongo Stolen from Southside of Glasgow

Post by davebngy » Wed Mar 06, 2019 11:01 pm

Hi all,

Our beloved Bongo (second home) has been stolen from outside our home in Langside area of Glasgow last night. We are absolutely devastated. We originally bought it at auction in China, had it shipped over then converted by Clearcut Conversions, before we clapped eyes on it. We loved it from the start. We have owned it for 4 years and have had some amazing adventures, including a trip to Spain with our now 2 year old daughter. She loves her Bongo! If anyone has seen it in the Glasgow area - possible sighting in Bishopbriggs earlier today, please let us know. Or in the coming weeks, months... keep a look out, the interior was rather superior and unlikely to change. Any information is very much appreciated.
Registration: SE51 YBU
Model: Mazda Bongo 2.5 V6 Aero
Colour: Silver

Please spread the word through social media. We are desperate!

Thanks

Dave, Ruth and Alice

Are you able to quote the VIN number from the V5? This may help in future identification if the plates are changed.

Yes I have that detail.

The VIN is SG5W-500124

I also have a photo of it somewhere if need be.

If you have not already done it, worthwhile using Facebook Mazda Bongo OWNERS CLUB or similar.

Take care.

I'm very pleased to report that we have found our bongo. People replied to a Facebook post after seeing it. It is a bit messed about inside but isn't a complete state.

My intention is to get it to a really good specialist to check it's mechanics and make all goos. In case they have thrashed it.

I'm in Scotland but would travel. Who is the best?

Thanks one and all for your support!!

Thank goodness for that. What a damn shame that people can do a thing like that. Bongospares in Halifax seem to be doing a lot. Otherwise, I can highly recommend Adrian at Japandirect in Bury who does mine. Campers Scotland (from memory) might be able to guide you also though i dont know much about them . Good luck getting it sorted.

Indeed. Its a sobering thought that Facebook might be more likely than the police to recover it

Again , you could put a request on Facebook for recommendations.

Take care.
