Great to hear from you chippie. Yes there's a big difference between the VWT5 (campervan in a hurry it always seems to me) brigade, and the idiosynchratic canalboaty World of Bongo, which i always feel comfy in. Maybe you were meant to rejoin us on the Far Side  8)

P.S. always puzzled by the moneypit thing. I know some have had hassles but for my £3800 investment 12 years ago i've had a remarkably pitless time. Yes there have been bills, but rather less overall than yer average motor. Welding is the main cost, and a new head 3 years ago. But taken over 12 years and with v little (or no!) depreciation loss, I'm not complaining :-)

Yes have gone the VW way and yes we do miss bongo in many ways.
Just renewed membership for another year though so it's not total withdrawal.

I've seen pictures of VW''s fitted with Bongo AFT''s.
Do this to yours and I'd wave to you

Sometimes you don't get a wave back and feel like a right pillock, some people too cool for school !

Yep. I said to the kids (after a few non returned waves) that we'd count the number of people who waved back from the next 10 Bongo's we saw.
It came out (cue drum roll)...6 out of 10 against.
We then decided to only wave if we were waved at first.
We did this for a while but didn't really like it and now we're back to always waving (well the kids are now teenagers so they tend to to grunt)
