FREETOP ROOF RACK

Post by richlizard » Tue Jul 31, 2018 10:23 pm

Hi all.

I have a freetop Bongo that I have so far been carrying a large ladder in that squeezes right up to the windscreen over the passenger seat. Now I need to start taking someone with me!

So I was wondering if there was a relatively low cost option of a roof rack that I can put my ladder on to save decapitating my buddy. Obviously my concern is mounting it on the freetop and ripping it to bits.

Thanks in advance

Easy enough.

The fittings are already on the AFT, just a case of buying roof bars.

A search on here is worthwhile, but they're pretty standard, but... beware lifting the roof with any weight on it.

Or...

Or sit your buddy behind you.

Thanks Bob.

I already have the ladder which is specific to my needs so changing that isn't an option.

Lobbing my mate in the back would be a great idea if it wasn't full of tools so no room there either.

Thanks for the link to the other thread. I will take a read.

Cheers

That's an auction Bob so price will no doubt go up and I need them for the weekend.

The first ones you linked to are just down the road from me and as Bongo specialists they fit them for you.

Think I will make a trip and take my ladder with me to make sure it fits ok :)
